Andre Saturne
1927-1983

Andre Saturne was born May 20, 1927 in Petionville. After completing his education at the Lycée Alexandre Petion, he joined the Centre d'Art in 1956 where he was inspired by the work of Gourgue, Normil, and Jasmin Joseph.
He traveled to the United States in 1962 where he studied at the Art Students League and had his work exhibited in New York by Leon Chalom. He returned to Port-au-Prince in 1972 where he lived with his wife and five children until his death on February 8, 1983.
